After cramming The Corner over the May Day Bank Holiday and showing Fallowfield exactly how we do, it’s time to dust yourself off and saddle up for Hold It Down…on the terrace.
Like old pioneers blazing a new trail, on the final Saturday in July our groove-hungry family will be rolling up at the original Kro Bar where we’ll set up camp on their sun battered terrace and throw our tried and tested music policy wide open, delving deep into our record bags to cook up a sizzling summer soundtrack. We’ll be laying down our standard sounds of disco old and new, wonky jackin’ house and grade-A Detroit techno, as well as more downtempo detail earlier in the day as we pour healthy measures of reggae, hip-hop and soul into our photosynthesised musical melting pot.
Starting mid-afternoon with a BBQ, beers and a terrace full of rambunctious reprobates, when night falls all we have to do is turn the decks around and take the party inside. And if that’s not enough, it’s our resident house honcho’s birthday so come along and help us remind Andy that he’s getting older but still none the wiser!
If our parties so far this year are anything to go by this should be a right proper hoedown throwdown, so come dance, drink, get burnt and Hold it Down!
